This guide covers the installation and reinstallation process for all Karanyi Sounds plugins and instruments, including VST3, AU, and AAX formats, as well as instrument-specific resource files and samples.
πΎ Installation Steps
macOS
-
Download your files from your account or mail:
-
the installer (
.pkgor.dmg) -
the instrument resources file (usually ends in
.hr1)
-
-
Unzip the files if needed.
-
Run the installer. It will place plugin files in the following default folders:
-
VST3:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ -
Audio Unit (AU):
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ -
AAX:
/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/
-
-
Launch your DAW and open the plugin or instrument.
-
On first launch, the plugin will prompt you to locate the
.hr1resource file. -
Choose a folder to store your sample content β we recommend a fast local drive.
-
After the resource file is located, restart the plugin if required.
-
Enter your serial number to complete activation.
Windows
Manual Installation:
-
Download the VST3, AAX, and
.hr1files from your account or mail. -
Copy the plugin files to:
-
VST3:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\ -
AAX:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\
-
-
Launch your DAW. On first run, the plugin will ask for the location of the
.hr1file. -
Select your preferred folder to store instrument samples.
-
Restart the plugin and enter your serial number to activate.
Installer Version:
-
Download the
.exeinstaller and.hr1resource file. -
Run the installer and follow the instructions.
-
After installation, open your DAW and follow the same steps for locating the resource file and entering the serial number.
πΉ For Instruments: Sample Library Setup
For instrument products that include multi-layer sound design or Kontakt-like behavior:
-
The
.hr1file contains the required samples and sound engine resources. -
During the first launch, the plugin will ask you to select the resource file and define a storage folder.
-
You can choose any fast, local disk β ideally an SSD β to host the sample content.
-
This folder will be used for future sessions as well; there's no need to move it after setup.
